The multi-purpose hall at the headquarters of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund (HPSF) hosted the proceedings of the 28th session of the Committee for the Monitoring of Petroleum Product Imports (CSIPP). Chaired by its President, Mr OKIE Johnson NDOH, Director-General of the CSPH, assisted by Ms Diane Valérie OBAM, Deputy Director-General of the CSPH, this crucial meeting brought together all stakeholders in the supply chain: public authorities (MINFI, MINEE), the SCDP, the Autonomous Port of Douala, SONARA, as well as importers and marketers.

In a spirit of consultation, the committee members carried out a thorough review of the items on the agenda. The aim of this collaborative approach is to identify areas for improvement and to strengthen the coordination of actions with a view to greater efficiency in implementing the agreed guidelines.

The agenda included several strategic items, notably the evaluation of the recommendations from the previous session. Discussions centred on the coordination of importers’ activities, an analysis of expected delivery schedules, as well as delays and the identification of the causes of these delays. Among the topics discussed, product availability received particular attention from committee members. Stakeholders placed considerable emphasis on stock levels and the monitoring of strategic products requiring particular vigilance, notably fuel and petroleum.

Representatives from MINFI and MINEE also drew the participants’ attention to the urgent need to settle outstanding payments to suppliers and to ensure compliance with the rules governing the mooring of vessels at buoys, as well as the conditions for berthing at the Autonomous Port of Douala. With a view to strengthening operational monitoring, the Committee Chair encouraged participants to coordinate their actions and to engage in greater dialogue with one another to achieve better overall performance.

At the conclusion of the discussions, the Committee Chair commended the quality of the contributions before officially closing the meeting. For their part, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring better follow-up on the resolutions adopted. The next session is scheduled for 19 June 2026.
