This year’s International Women’s Day commemoration wasn't just celebratory at the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund (HPSF); it was ecstatic. Under the global and institutional theme of "Rights, Justice, and Action for All Women and Girls," the HPSF staff gathered to prove that empowerment isn't just a slogan; it’s a lived reality within its walls. From the football pitch to the multipurpose hall for the celebration, the day was a masterclass in excellence, punctuated by laughter and a healthy dose of competitive spirit.

The festivities kicked off with a lingering note of victory from the match played on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. In a display of tactical brilliance and sheer stamina, the HPSF team dominated CDEC with a resounding 4–1 victory.

The highlight of the ceremony was the official presentation of the winner’s trophy to the Director General, Mr. OKIE Johnson NDOH. As the DG hoisted the cup, the room burst forth in cheers. One of the HPSF’s midfielders; KENMOU Imelda Mykelle achieved champion status after bagging the championship for the HPSF. Also, Georgina MINSO, for the second time capped off this friendly match with the best goalkeeper trophy. It was a symbolic moment, showing that when the HPSF women and their supporters take to the field, they don’t just participate; they win.

While the speeches focused on the serious pillars of Justice and Action, the cultural segment brought a series of relatable and frankly hilarious performances, mirroring the daily lives of professional women; balancing high-stakes decisions with the "organized chaos" of home life. Between the witty sketches and the rhythmic dance moves, the performance served as a reminder that joy is, in itself, a form of resilience.

Action, was most visible during the installation of newly promoted staff. In a move that signaled a clear commitment to gender-balanced leadership, a significant number of women were promoted to key positions, tasked with carrying out their new assignments with the utmost meticulousness.

Among the appointments were:

• Madame SIMO EKUDE EPIE Sharleen: Formerly the Chief of Service for Training, she now ascends to the role of Research Officer No. 4. Her reputation for detail-oriented strategy makes her a perfect fit for this analytical powerhouse role.
• Madame ASO FAI YENGO Amanda Vanessa: Moving from the Technical Department where she served as Chief of Service for the Monitoring of Petroleum Regulations, she now takes the reins as the Chief of Service for Training. Her technical background is expected to bring a fresh, rigorous perspective to staff development.

The day concluded with a shared meal and a renewed sense of purpose. By celebrating our athletic wins, laughing at our shared experiences, and promoting our brightest minds, the HPSF has shown that Rights and Justice are best served through Action.
