The atmosphere at the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund (HPSF) on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026 was more than just celebratory; it was transformational. The event began with a poignant opening by the Director General, OKIE Johnson NDOH, in the presence of the Deputy Director General; Diane Valerie OBAM and various Departmental Directors. Eschewing a formal, detached tone, the Director General shared the roadmap of his own ascension to success, reminding the youth that leadership is grown, not given. With the weight of experience in his voice, he urged the young staff to protect their focus by shunning the " poison " of office gossip. Drawn from Biblical wisdom, he emphasized that words have the power to build or destroy, and that a successful career is built on the solid rock of character rather than the shifting sands of hearsay.

Following this powerful opening, a relay of Directors took the floor, each adding a unique "brick" to the foundation of the young professionals'careers. The recurring theme was one of discipline and respect for hierarchy. They reminded the youth that punctuality and respecting working hours are not just administrative requirements but acts of professional worship. "Discipline", the Technical Adviser No. 1 GUEIME BOUKAR said, "is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. " Directors encouraged the youth to be proactive and to stay deeply knowledgeable about the inner workings of the HPSF and the broader socio[1]economic landscape of Cameroon, ensuring they are always ready to contribute when the nation calls.

The dialogue then shifted to the "soft skills " that truly define a leader: kindness and humility. The youth were reminded that no one reaches the top alone; every leader today is there because someone else extended grace and an opportunity on "Day 1. " This spirit of gratitude should manifest in a willingness to volunteer for tasks, to ask for help without shame, and to be patient with one’s own growth. The Directors challenged the young staff to be innovative; to earn something new every day and, to be willing to teach others what they know. In this exchange of wisdom, the message was clear; at the HPSF, success is a collective journey fueled by a proactive heart and a disciplined mind.
