Minister Essomba, representing the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, highlighted the significance of the gas filling centre in promoting clean energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Bamenda Liquified Petroleum Gas filling centre is part of the government's efforts to provide each region with at least one gas storage and filling centre.

Minister Essomba confirmed that the price of domestic gas has been reduced and harmonized at 6,500 FCFA per 12.5kg of gas. He urged the population to make good use of the special gift donated to the North West Region by the Head of State and to quit using firewood, which contributes to deforestation.
The Minister also called on authorities in the North West Region to fight fraud and discrimination within the filling centre. He congratulated the management of CSPH for overseeing the construction of the centre and urged them to ensure that sons and daughters of the region are recruited to work in the centre.

The General Manager of CSPH, Okie Johnson Ndoh, emphasized that the project was realized thanks to the efforts of the administration of the region, several companies, and the population. He described the ultra-modern complex as a reflection of the dynamism of the public authorities in the petroleum sector in Cameroon.
"The facility will serve public interest in many ways," Johnson said. "This project falls in line with the objectives defined by the government in the master plan for energy sector development as described by the Head of State."
He emphasized that the project's benefits, include reducing deforestation, promoting clean cooking energy, and creating around 1,000 direct and indirect jobs.

He revealed that the centre has a c
